A misanthropic, struggling photographer just wants to watch TV and eat candy while his wife is out of town, but when a desperate old pal resurfaces, his plans are thwarted, with spooky consequences.
The Civil Dead, directed by Clay Tatum, is a buddy film with a macabre twist. When his wife goes on a business trip, she encourages her unmotivated freelance photographer husband, Clay, to be productive while she’s gone. This leads him to reconnect with high school friend Whit (Whitmer Thomas), a former big man on campus whose star has faded. Worse than that, Whit is also dead, and only Clay can see him. Desperate to be seen again, Whit enlists Clay’s help.
