Eddie Krumble works as a paid audience member for infomercials and experiences a whirlwind of overnight fame after a late-night talk show host publicizes his frequent infomercial appearances.

Longing to wipe the slate clean and move on with his life, the invisible, down-to-earth professional audience member, Eddie Krumble (Ed Helms), travels from one studio to another with his best friend, Chris (Tracy Morgan), to make a living cheering for products on countless infomercial shows. Having learned to content himself with his anonymity, when he doesn’t put his hands together for dubious merchandise or ask softball questions, Eddie is looking for excuses to visit his secret crush, Judy (Amanda Seyfried): a mousy cashier at a small gas station on Melrose Avenue. Then, Eddie catches the eye of the famous late-night talk show host, Jayme Stillerman (Russell Peters), and just like that, anonymous Krumble becomes an overnight sensation. But, sometimes, love prefers to be quiet, and fame can be so loud and exhausting. Can there be a future between the clapper and the gas-station girl?
