Anne Harding (Charisma Carpenter) is a single mother. Her husband has passed away and Anne has difficulty with this for several reasons. His life insurance policy is also not paid out. Kyle (Adam DiMarco), Anne’s son, has gambling debts and they need to be paid off. In addition, the bills are piling up. This drives Anne to despair: money has to be put on the table.
