Night of the Running Man

A Las Vegas cab driver finds a million dollars of stolen money in his cab after his fare is murdered. Soon after, a ruthless hitman is in persuit; he will stop at nothing to recover the money and dispose of all witnesses.

Soft-spoken, ruthless contract killer David Eckhart (Glenn) is ordered to hit Jerry Logan (McCarthy), a Las Vegas cab driver who’s gotten his hands on a million dollars stolen from a casino. Logan expects to catch a train out of town and disappear, but he uses his real name to buy the ticket and talks too much to a waitress. Eckhart catches up with Logan in the Salt Lake City airport, but Logan is able to ditch Eckhart in the crowded terminal and catch a plane to Los Angeles. In LA, Logan is immediately intercepted by one of Eckhart’s confederates, Derek Mills (John Glover), who burns Logan’s feet so he can’t run anymore. Logan clobbers Mills, escapes, and ends up in a hospital, where he befriends a beautiful nurse named Chris Altman (Janet Gunn). When Eckhart traces Logan to the hospital, Altman takes Logan to a hotel to hide out. Information from Mills leads Eckhart to the hotel. The couple fight him off and go to Altman’s house to plan their next move.
