Office Race

A professional underachiever is coerced by his new boss to run a charity marathon, with unexpected twists as he races against time and his own limits.

Pat (Beck Bennett) is a thirtysomething man who doesn’t challenge himself anymore. He’s in a loveless relationship with his girlfriend, Pat (Alyson Hannigan), and he’s lost at his job, tasked with selling ads for a money transfer app. His officemate is Spencer (Joel McHale), a high-achieving man who’s recently been promoted over Pat, becoming his boss, newly tasked with charming client Rita (Erinn Hayes) over dinner, joined by his newly defeated subordinate. During the conversation, Spencer looks to connect with Rita over her love of long distance running, inventing his own participation in the upcoming Sweet Peach Marathon. Pat, unwilling to look stupid, also commits to the race despite having no training in the sport. Suddenly involved in a marathon and charity demands, Pat is quickly overwhelmed by his new responsibility, struggling to find his place with fellow runners, making things worse for himself when a simple bet with Spencer gets wildly out of hand, forcing him to take the challenge seriously.
