Sieben Sommersprossen

Teens in a holiday-camp. First love, first sex, first self-made theatre performance of “Romeo and Julliet” – quite interesting to have a look at the east-German youth in the seventies.

Two long-separated childhood friends, a 14-year-old boy and girl, are reunited at summer camp. There, they begin to fall in love with one another and assume the responsibilities of adulthood. However, their budding romance is largely thwarted by the camp’s strict rules prohibiting contact between boy and girl campers. They suffer further reverses when another girl with a crush on the boy writes an accusatory letter about the girl. Meanwhile, the camp is attempting to put together a production of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. With pluck, determination and good cheer, things turn out well for the kids.
