Splatter University

A patient escapes from a mental hospital, killing one of his keepers and then a University professor after he makes his way to the local college. Next semester, the late prof’s replacement and a new group of students have to deal with a new batch of killings.

Brought down by a feeble plot that reveals the identity of the killer early on, this low-budget horror film focuses on Julie Parker (Forbes Riley), a sociology instructor at a small college who has been called in to replace the last instructor — murdered during the previous semester. Perhaps the college evaluations here are harsher than most. As the college enrollment decreases and the faculty are downsized by a serial killer, the victims, as usual, are too dim-witted to prevent their imminent demise, raising questions about college standards these days.
