Inspired by the dramatic true story of the Cocaine Cowgirls, Sugar follows two young Canadian women who get caught up in a major drug smuggling operation aboard a luxury cruise ship sailing around the world. With nowhere to run—the walls close in on them.

Chloe (Katherine McNamara), a woman seeking a fresh start, crosses paths with Melanie (Jasmine Sky Sarin), an aspiring influencer trying to gain access to a club. They meet Jules (Éric Bruneau), a promoter who offers them a job on a cruise. Despite Chloe’s personal troubles, she convinces Melanie to join her on the journey and find themselves on a luxury cruise through the Caribbean and South Pacific. Throughout the cruise, they capture their experiences on social media and develop a close bond. However, they soon uncover a dangerous situation involving illegal activities. Tensions arise as Chloe’s hidden agenda comes to light, leading to challenges and unexpected betrayals. As they strive to escape the perilous circumstances, they face the repercussions of their choices. Eventually, their journey takes an unforeseen turn, leaving them in a difficult situation. They’ll need to do whatever it takes to stay together and to stay alive.
