Hello girls and boys,
We have had a really busy day today. We got up really early to meet the teachers from Iceland, Germany, Estonia and Slovenia who are working on our Comenius project with us. The Slovenian teachers brought us to meet the girls and boys in Vrtec Galjevica.
The boys and girls were really friendly. They were really excited to meet Pippi and Mr. Nellson. They even showed us their Pippi and Mr. Nellson! Erna, a teacher from Iceland had brought a Pippi too!
The boys and girls in Slovenia speak Slovenian, but when we visited they were learning some English words. Can you guess what they are learning about here?
Pippi got to learn some things too! The children asked her to join in their circle-time. Here she is learning a song about friendship.
Pippi liked spotting things that were the same and different about the school and St. Sylvester’s. Can you see things in these photos of the classrooms that are the same or are different?
Pippi was excited to see the ‘Comenius Corner’ in the school. She found Ireland on the map, she saw how far she had travelled to get to Slovenia.
Pippi found a house that reminded her of Villa Villakula and had great fun exploring it.
She decided to find ingredients to make cookies on the floor with Mr. Nellson. The teachers were worried she would make an awful mess and suggested she go outside to play instead with her new friends.
Pippi learnt so much in school today and can’t wait to go back tomorrow!
Love Pippi, Mr. Nellson, Ms. Collison, Ms. Staunton and Ms. Shevlin.
